Susan Boyle pips President Obama to primetime TV slot in the States
Is Susan Boyle really more popular than Obama? It looks that way.
Yesterday, the President requested a 9pm TV slot on national channel NBC, to discuss his plans for reforming the country’s healthcare system. However, producers at the network decided to go ahead with a planned interview with SuBo instead, and forced Obama to switch to the 8pm slot.
‘The television networks normally comply even if it is in prime viewing time,’ a source explained to the Daily Express.
‘It can lose them ratings and millions of dollars in advertising revenue. But NBC dug its heels in and refused to push Susan out of the prime time slot, so the White House just had to blink.’
Boyle’s fame in the US continues to rise despite the fact she didn’t win Britain’s Got Talent. Yesterday, American glossy fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar announced it will feature the unlikely model in a shoot for its September issue.
Meanwhile, celebrities and chatshow hosts are falling over themselves to meet the 48-year-old ahead of the release of her debut album.
