    One of the schoolgirls in the hit remake of St Trinian’s has bagged herself the job of playing the next Bond girl.

    Virtual unknown, Gemma Arterton, will star opposite Daniel Craig in what will be her second ever movie. The 22-year-old beat off 1,500 hopefuls to win the role in the next of the Bond movies, Bond 22.

    Arterton plays Head Girl, Kelly, in the schoolgirl caper movie and reportedly an inside at Eon Productions, the company behind the Bond movies said of the signing: ‘She has the modern look.’

    The rising star will begin filming with Craig in January.
