To celebrate the launch of luxe label Maiyet in the UK, the editorial platform Nowness hosted a fun filled party in London.
The brand established by former human rights lawyer Paul van Zyl and co-founder Kristy Caylor aims to support rare artisanal skills and master craftsmen in Colombia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mongolia and Peru.
Guests including Matthew Williamson, Tallulah Harlech, Polly Morgan, Suzy Menkes and Felicity Jones flocked to the Zabludowicz Collection building in North London to toast the arrival of the pioneering fashion brand.
With a ‘Dark & Stormy’ cocktail (mixed with Maiyet’s own brand rum) in hand, the crowd enjoyed a series of short films directed by Cary Fukunaga before hitting the dance floor with a DJ set by Jefferson Hack and a live performance by Singtank featuring Josephine de La Baume and Alexandre de La Baume.
Maiyet’s collection available now from Selfridges and net-a-porter.com includes colourful hand printed silk dresses, Ari embroidered jackets as well as 18-karat gold-plated jewellery and leather accessories.
