Fancy a taste of swinging London? Sixties photographer Justin de Villeneuve’s new exhibition at the Fashion Textile Museum is perfect for vintage lovers.
Forget Terry O’Neill or David Bailey. The new show at the Fashion and Textiles Museum, Fashion and Fame, hosts some of the most iconic images of the 1960s and 1970s as captured by de Villeneuve, who was also Twiggy’s manager before turning his talents to the lens.
Those photos include the famous ‘silhouette’ of Marsha Hunt (star of 1970s musical Hair), Twiggy in Biba on the cover of Queen magazine and the legendary photograph of David Bowie and Twiggy that became the cover of his ‘Pin Ups’ album.
The stunning collection was given a suitably rock n roll welcome when it was opened last week by rock star and model Pattie Boyd, who also appears in photographs.
The exhibition runs 18 March – 25 April. To book, visit the Fashion and Textiles Museum. Tickets £7 / £4 concessions.
