Take That set to be new face of Marks & Spencer menswear
IT’S BEEN A PHENOMENAL comeback year for the nation’s favourite boy band, and now Take That are set to boost their profile even more by fronting the new M&S menswear campaign.
The down-to-earth pop stars have been secretly photographed on a closed set by celebrated snapper to the stars, Rankin, and the multi-million pound ad campaign is said to launch next month.
The signing is a huge coup for the high street store, which has seen sales sky-rocket after clever ad campaigns have helped relaunch its image.
Insiders say that chief executive Stuart Rose is hoping the band will re-ignite interest in M&S menswear in the same way that Erin O’Connor, Twiggy and Myleene Klass have boosted female fashions and lingerie.
One expert told the Daily Mirror: ‘It’s a very clever campaign. An army of female fans have grown up with the band and will want to buy the same clothes for their partners that their idols are promoting.’
M&S sources would only confirm yesterday that ‘many celebrities’ had been contacted regarding future campaigns.
