Diane Kruger, Claudia Schiffer, Mary-Kate Olsen and more, at YSL's night at the opera
After presenting an autumn/winter collection steeped in elegance and sophistication earlier this month, YSL took the same aesthetic to the red carpet last night, as it hosted a starry gala in aid of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Leading the pack of A-list beauties was the fashion house’s spring campaign face, Claudia Schiffer, who wowed in a flowing black gown. And though on many the high neck style would appear shapeless, on the towering beauty it was effortlessly sophisticated, and oh-so-glam, when teamed with the super’s glossy blonde locks and ruby red pout.
She was joined by one of the fashion industry’s favourite couples – Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson – who have become regulars at catwalk shows and various style events of late.
Chic in a two-tone strapless gown, Kruger looked gorgeous as ever, especially with the ultimate accessory – a dapper Jackson – on her arm.
Mary-Kate Olsen also arrived alongside her latest beau, and though her LBD was the perfect compliment to the evening’s elegant dress code, we weren’t so sure about the frizzy blonde beehive. A hairbrush would have made all the difference, but then an Olsen isn’t an Olsen without a hint of signature scruffiness, right?
Looking far more preened was a glowing Ginnifer Goodwin, who redeemed herself after a series of fashion faux pas, and looked ravishing in a slinky strapless gown.
Another of our favourite looks came courtesy of Ugly Betty star Becki Newton, shimmying in a glimmering green sequinned strapless number.
