Tom Cruise signs up for Jonathan Ross show, despite comeback controversy
Tom Cruise has confirmed that he will appear on Jonathan Ross’s comeback show, despite the presenter’s recent run of controversy.
Ross was suspended from the BBC for 12 weeks, following the Andrew Sachs affair, in which Ross and Russell Brand left obscene voicemail messages on the actor’s phone.
The incident saw Brand resign from the BBC, and Ross accept the suspension, during which he was not paid.
His Friday night show will now return to the airwaves on 23 January. It has been reported that the presenter has been slapped with a set of rules, including to avoid ‘sexually suggestive remarks’ and ‘unnecessary swearing’.
It was rumoured that Cruise was reluctant to appear on the show following the controversy.
He touches down in London next week, on the promotional trail for new movie, Valkyrie. It is not confirmed whether he will be joined by wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri.
