Natalie Portman and Kristin Scott Thomas turn red carpet blue in Cannes
The red carpet was awash with blue last night as both Natalie Portman and Kristin Scott Thomas turned out in silk indigo frocks in Cannes.
The two actresses arrived at the same screening of French drama Le Silence de Lorna only to discover they were wearing near identical gowns – give or two an inch or two.
Twenty-six-year-old Portman opted for the shorter look, wearing a tiered ruffle, flapper-style dress with strappy bronze heels, whilst English actress Scott Thomas chose an elegant floor-length, draped number.
As a member of this year’s jury, Portman has been a regular on the red carpet at this year’s Cannes festival and has maintained her place at the top of the style scale, giving the crowds a daily dose of couture.
After a whirlwind tour promoting her new movie Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow proved she is still back in business with yet another red carpet appearance on the Riviera.
Having worn a series of thigh-skimming dresses for the movie tour, Paltrow took a more demure turn in Cannes for a screening of her next movie Two Lovers, wearing a plunging black satin gown. The actress still held onto her recent style however, in another pair of sky-high stilettos.
