  • A bumper baby weekend as Charlotte Church, Salma Hayek and Noel Gallagher's girlfriend all give birth

Latest post from Charlotte Church’s website reveals her baby’s new name, Ruby Megan Henson: ‘Hi everyone, I’ve just been chatting to Charlotte this morning and she told me that she and Gavin have chosen the name Ruby for their baby daughter. Ruby was born at 10.35pm last Thursday and weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces, exactly the same weight that Charlotte was when she was born. Charlotte said that they have spent the weekend receiving family and friends and everything is fine with both her and Ruby.’

Charlotte Church, Salma Hayek, and Noel Gallagher’s girlfriend, Sara MacDonald, have all given birth in the past four days in a celebrity baby boom.

First up, Charlotte went into labour at her home in Wales on Thursday, producing a healthy 6lb 10oz baby girl. The singer, who had boyfriend Gavin Henson and her mother, Maria, by her side and used a birthing pool for the delivery, has not yet announced her first daughter’s first name.

There’s no secret surrounding Salma Hayek’s daughter’s name: little Valentina Paloma Pinault, whose father is fashion boss Francois-Henri Pinault, was also welcomed into the world at the end of last week.

‘Mother and daughter are doing well,’ Salma’s rep, Cari Ross, told reporters.

Finally, Sara MacDonald – girlfriend of Oasis star Noel Gallagher – gave birth to Donovan Rory MacDonald Gallagher in London. The little boy is the couple’s first child together, while Noel has a daughter, Anais, from his previous marriage to Meg Mathews.
