Jennifer Hudson gives rousing first performance after family massacre
There wasn’t a dry eye left in the house after Jennfier Hudson gave a goosebump-inducing performance of the American national Anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa on Sunday.
The star sung her heart out in what was her first public performance since her mother, brother and nephew were shot dead last year.
Hudson – dressed in jeans, a military jacket and gold
jewellery – surveyed the crowds and took a deep breath before launching
into her rousing performance.
She showed off her hugely skilled vocal range before finishing on a super-high note with her head tossed back in the air.
Jennifer’s rendition followed a performance of America the Beautiful by country music star Faith Hill.
The former American Idol alumni is also expected to sing at the Grammy Awards on 8 February, where she is nominated in four categories.
