Who won - and wore - what at the Emmys
Jennifer Aniston obviously knows a good thing when she sees one – the actress chose to guest-star on the comedy 30 Rock recently, and the hit US show last night picked up four Emmy Awards.
Along with winning the Best Series honour, its stars, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, picked up the Best Actor and Actress awards, while Fey also took home Best Comedy Writing gong.
But it was the drama John Adams, a show about the United States’ second president, that was the biggest winner of the night, garnering five awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Briton Tom Wilkinson. It took 13 Emmys in total, including eight won a week earlier at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The only other Brit to bring home an award was Dame Eileen Atkins, who won Best Supporting Actress in a Mini Series for her role in the BBC drama Cranford.
American drama Mad Men, about the New York advertising industry in the 60s, walked away with the Best Drama Series award.
TV gongs aside, who were the biggest fashion winners of the night? Host Heidi Klum – who underwent five on-stage costume changes – was undoubtedly the belle of the ball as she arrived in an antique silver Armani Privé gown dripping with Swarovski crystals, while Eva Longoria Parker kept those pregnancy rumours alive in an empire-line, ice-blue, fringed Marchesa minidress with a huge bow embellishment.
Will & Grace star Debra Messing also looked fabulous in a dramatic black Monique Lhuillier Spring 2009 dress, which was tiered with embroidered tulle.
