  • Could Lily Allen be Doctor Who's new assistant?

LILY ALLEN IS rumoured to be the latest star to join the cast of Doctor Who. Bosses at the successful BBC sci-fi series are said to be keen for Lily to take the role previously played be Billie Piper and then Freema Agyeman, as they believe she could bring a new audience to the show. The role is currently being filled by Catherine Tate.

The singer has recently signed up for her own TV chat show with the BBC, and a source told the The Sun, ‘They would love her to take over one of the most high-profile female roles on British TV.’

The source adds, ‘Lily is multi-talented. She comes from more of a TV background than a musical one. After the chat show we hope she’ll take over from Catherine as Dr Who’s assistant.’
