  • Ben Affleck may halt film release, due to similarities to Madeleine McCann case

BEN AFFLECK MAY prevent his new film from being released in Britain, as it features a number of striking similarities to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Gone Baby Gone is Affleck’s directorial film debut, and follows the story of the abduction of a four-year old girl, taken from her bed when she is left home-alone. The young actress who plays the abducted girl is also called Madeleine, and even has a resemblance to missing Madeleine.

After learning the details of the McCann case, Affleck is now reviewing whether to bring the film to Britain where it was due for release later this year. He commented: ‘We are acutely aware of the situation. We have a greater concern for that than the release of our film, which is just a commercial matter, whereas this is a matter of life and death. He added: ‘We don’t want to release the movie if it is going to touch a nerve or inflame anybody’s sensitivities.’
