Amy Winehouse arrested and bailed over drugs video
Amy Winehouse has been arrested and subsequently released on bail for alleged drug use.
The singer has finally been called to account for a video which appeared online back in January in which she appeared to be seen taking drugs. The film, brought to the public’s attention by a tabloid newspaper, was subsequently passed on to the police, who arrested Amy at Limehouse police station in London yesterday afternoon.
‘A 24-year-old women from the Camden area attended a London police station by arrangement and was arrested in connection with the alleged possession of a controlled drug,’ a spokesman for Scotland Yard said.
‘This is in connection with an investigation connected to footage passed to the Metropolitan Police on January 22.’
A spokesperson for the singer said Amy was cooperating with police and had arrived at the station by prior arrangement. She arrived at 1pm and didn’t leave until 10.30pm.
It’s been a bad month for Amy who was cautioned by the police just two weeks ago after spending a night in their cells after assaulting a man in Camden.
