Chanel, Christian Lacroix and Givenchy round up day two of Couture Fashion Week
Kicking off day two of Couture Fashion Week in the utmost style, Karl Lagerfeld presented Chanel’s Couture collection for autumn/winter 2008.
Set against a giant set of tubular organ pipes in Paris’s Grand Palais, the show encapsulated all the extremes of Couture, from the circular catwalk, to the luxuriously structured garments.
Watching from the front row, Claudia Schiffer looked elegant in a classic monochrome Chanel suit, sitting alongside Patricia Arquette and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Onto Christian Lacroix, and the flamboyant designer did not fail to disappoint, with a romantic collection, punctuated by gothic touches, most notably, the model’s ribboned mohawks.
Ending the day with Givenchy, the fashion pack will be set for another fashion-filled day today, with Jean Pual Gaultier, Elie Saab and Valentino all showing in the French capital.
