New royal wedding details revealed by Clarence House include confirmation of the reception and a carriage procession for the happy couple
Royal wedding fever has stepped up a gear today, as Clarence House has confirmed new details of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s April nuptials.
Unveiling a brief outline of the schedule for 29th April, it has been confirmed that the blushing bride will travel to Westminster Abbey by car along the Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square.
This is a break with typical protocol, as royal brides have traditionally travelled to their wedding by carriage.
The service will take place at 11am and will be conducted by the Dean of Westminster then the couple will be married by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Bishop of London will give an address.
The newlyweds will then leave the abbey in a glass carriage procession to Buckingham Palace, along the same route earlier taken by Ms Middleton, where the Queen will host a reception.
It is expected that the couple will make an appearance on the palace balcony, as is tradition.
To conclude the festivities, Prince Charles will host a private dinner, followed by dancing for close family and friends.
