And she types her tweets using an iPhone with a purple background... according to new research
The typical Twitter user is an English-speaking 28-year-old woman, with 208 followers who sends out her tweets on an iPhone.
The study by Beevolve analytics firm also found women favour purple backgrounds and mostly tweet about their family life and fashion preferences.
Male users prefer to tweet about technology, sports and business.
Their report ‘An Exhaustive Study of Twitter Users Around the World’ uses a series of graphs to show the differences in the types of Twitter users, including geographic distribution and gender.
The US has the highest number of Twitter users, with the UK second. Women tweet more than men.
Interestingly, six out of 10 people with Twitter accounts have zero followers, showing that perhaps many of us prefer to observe rather than interact on the social networking sites.
The most frequently used word in a Twitter bio is love, with life, you and music coming in after.
Two thirds of people use an iPhone to access and post tweets on the site.
