Have the Beckhams had enough of America?
David and Victoria Beckham are rumoured to have had their fill of America ? and are pining for English soil, according to reports.
Homesickness has set in, but a series of injuries that have left David bench-warming rather than playing at his Galaxy club have also reportedly fuelled discontent.
One insider said: ‘He’d be very happy if someone would buy out his Galaxy contract.’
The source also claimed that Victoria’s dVb line has not lived up to expectations, leaving her feeling somewhat disenchanted.
‘It?s done about $15 million in retail when it was expected to have done $50 million by now.
‘The Spice Girls reunion tour really was a bright light for her, it was a complete success,’ said the source. ‘However, it really did make it clear to Victoria how different her life is here. She?s got some decisions to make.’
However, the alleged lower-than-expected success rate of her dVb line certainly hasn’t put her off developing the range ? she’s confirmed a new men’s denim line will be launched under the label.
Posh has a very firm idea about the collection, which will be available in August 2008 at $200 a pop.
She said: ‘I think guys should wear jeans big and baggy, with a big pair of boots or flip-flops – exactly how you see David when he?s out in his jeans and T-shirt. Do not pull them up tight and have your bulge showing. Let it hang!
‘I didn?t want anything too tight around the crotch. That really repulses me. It might be fashionable, but you are not going to get that from dVb.’
Victoria even took a little swipe at Britney Spears when insisting she’s very involved in the design process.
She added: ‘I’m a complete control freak and I want everything to be perfect. I?m not doing a Britney Spears and just putting my name on something and saying, “Sell this perfume”. This is a real passion of mine.’
