Who won - and wore - what at this year's BAFTA Awards
As Britain’s most celebrated television actors turned up to this year’s BAFTA awards, it was immediately clear who were winners and who were losers – in the style stakes at least.
Kelly Brook was an obvious fashion front-runner in her old-school Hollywood glamour-style silk navy frock, which she accessorised with a white faux fur shrug. Emilia Fox, too, looked elegant in an antique-gold, floor-length jersey dress, while Alesha Dixon simply glowed in a colourful empire-line, swirl-print gown.
On the flipside, and these events always have one, were the style sinners. This year’s worst offenders? Tess Daly who donned a shocking, Barbie-pink creation, and Melinda Messenger, whose heaving cleavage was struggling to stay inside her over-the-top fairytale princess dress.
Meanwhile, the ceremony, held at the London Palladium, saw Cranford actress Dame Eileen Atkins beat her co-star Dame Judi Dench to the Best Actress gong. Best Actor went to Andrew Garfield for his role in the Channel 4 series, Boy A, and Best Drama Series was picked up by BBC One’s The Street cast.
Other winners of the night included Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, which picked up a Best Features trophy, and Peep Show, which received the Best Situation Comedy gong.
