Prince William and Kate Middleton have arrived in Pakistan for their royal tour, with this being the Duke and Duchess’ first official visit to the country.

During their tour, the royal couple ‘will pay respect to the historical relationship between Britain and Pakistan, but will largely focus on showcasing Pakistan as it is today — a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation.

‘From the modern leafy capital Islamabad, to the vibrant city of Lahore, the mountainous countryside in the North, and the rugged border regions to the West, the visit will span over 1000km, and will take in Pakistan’s rich culture, its diverse communities, and its beautiful landscapes.’

It’s not the tour itinerary that has made the most news however, but the first photo that Prince William and Kate Middleton chose to share, a behind the scenes snap.

Yes, instead of releasing an official portrait to announce their arrival, the Cambridges posted a photograph of them disembarking the plane from behind, setting the tone for an intimate tour.

'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in Pakistan!' the caption read alongside the behind the scenes image.

Here's hoping we've got a lot more candid photographs to come.

We're wishing Prince William and Kate Middleton a lovely tour.
