Jonathan Saunders showed his A/W12 collection on the 20th Floor in Broadgate - a stark concrete space with glass walls and panoramic views of London which, mixed with the red laser light catwalk and the outside sunset, created the perfect setting.
Anna Wintour was on the front row, and you know when she’s turned up we should expect big things… and we weren’t disappointed.
Slim fitting trousers and clean jackets opened the show in plum, brown, emerald and gold geometric prints. The prints came in an array of scales, each one sitting perfectly with the next. His attention to detail here was exact and perfect, and could be seen at full advantage on the blown up and embossed detailing on pale lilac coats.
Then came the sporty pieces that Saunders is best known for, with plastic golf visors and wide striped knits. Beautiful chrysanthemum prints in black red and purple were clear stand out pieces, but my favourites were the dresses at the end that shone with the most beautiful embroidered daisies.
Happy, beautiful clothes that no doubt everyone will very soon be wearing.
