Coldplay songs favourite to send us to sleep
Coldplay songs are the nation’s music of choice when drifting off to sleep at night, a survey has revealed.
The Brit rock band who have been criticised in the past for their melancholy tunes came top of the ‘kip parade’ in a poll carried out by Travelodge.
James Blunt, Snow Patrol, Take That and Norah Jones joined Coldplay in the top five listed.
The survey also quizzed snoozers on their favourite bedtime reads and, frighteningly, Jordan’s autobiography was the nation’s most soothing bedtime story. Autobiographies proved popular across the board with David Beckham, Jodie Marsh and Sharon Osbourne all appearing as favourite sleep-inducing reads.
Over 2,000 Britons were surveyed and proved that the age-old tradition of counting sheep is no longer the preferred method to fall asleep. Women apparently prefer to go through tasks for the next day, count down until their holiday or count shoes, handbags or calories.
Men however, count their money, past sexual conquests or goals scored by their football team.
It seems sex at bedtime features low down on the agenda as 88% of those surveyed said they preferred to settle down with a good book, film, music or TV show.
