  • Kate Middleton’s bouncy barnet fought off competition from Cheryl Cole and Holly Willoughby

Kate Middleton has been named the UK’s top hair icon thanks to her crown of brunette waves. So now not only do we aspire to recreate her awe-inspiring wardrobe, perfect poise and constant charity commitments (we’d also like her palace and our own Prince please) the nation now want to mimic the royal mane – but at least that’s the most achievable and affordable out of our wish list!

The Duchess of Cambridge’s locks scored a landside victory in a survey by hair care brand Kérastase that found a staggering 70 per cent of women would like to recreate the royal’s big, bouncy blow dry and glossy shine.

Kate Middleton stole the most-desired hair baton from Cheryl Cole who also featured high on the list but failed to secure the top spot. Doing her bit for blondes Holly Willoughby also came in at third place.

With this in mind it comes as no surprise then that 41 per cent of the 2,000 women polled would like to have thicker, fuller-looking hair – just like Duchess Kate’s. But if they are keen to have the same treatment they can visit Richard Ward’s Chelsea salon where the royal has been a loyal client for a long time.

And on being named the UK’s top hair icon we imagine she’ll continue to visit the same stylist!
