Boots has had a makeover, and it's hand-on-my-heart incredible

A sustainable and stylish shake-up we're welcoming with open arms

A sustainable and stylish shake-up we're welcoming with open arms

Be still my beating heart: Boots stores have had a very fancy makeover. I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek the day before the grand opening and let me tell you, it's the stuff beauty enthusiasts' dreams are made of.

So, what's good? The first important thing you need to know is that this Boots is ditching plastic bags completely, swapping them out for unbleached brown paper bags.

Keeping with the sustainability theme, there's a station to refill your water bottle (and grab a Chillys bottle if you haven't yet). It's a simple idea, but think how much easier it'll be to pop into Boots for your water rather than queuing up in Starbucks.

If you're trying to be a bit more planet-conscious, there's also a sustainability aisle dedicated to things like bamboo toothbrushes, biodegradable sanitary pads and tampons, as well as a Beauty Kitchen product refilling station.

Dotted around the store are curated edits – think vegan beauty, festival essentials, foot care – as well as a build your own travel bag station. Counters are more reflective of the brand they play home too; there are even in-store Josh Wood hair colour consultations and a La Roche-Posay skincare tool.

'Our new Covent Garden store starts a journey of reinventing Boots for the future,' the company's Managing Director, Sebastian James says. 'The store is full of exciting beauty brands, ideas for living well and services to help you get better, all with the great care that Boots colleagues give.

'We will learn what people love and want from this shop and this will help us shape a blueprint for our whole 2,500 store estate.'

Overall, it's an Instagrammable beauty space where people can 'hang out,' as well as simply popping in for the essentials. I'll bet you've never seen a prescription waiting area as nice as the below.

The brand spanking new Covent Garden store opens to the public at 11am tomorrow, with the first 200 customers receiving a divine goodie bag packed with beauty treats. And if you're keen enough, the first 100 will also get a free pair of RayBan sunnies. Not bad eh?

Don't know about you, but I'd quite like to move in.
