Happy #internationalwomensday

If you haven't heard of Lindex yet, then you're missing out, because the Scandi brand is all about empowering women, and what better message to give on #internationalwomensday?

Today marks the launch of its 'Art meets fashion' collection, a unique collaboration with eight young artists, where two different art forms merge together - created for women, in tribute to women.

Each artist was given a brief, celebrating women, and using their individual expressions and technologies, created original artwork, which was then transformed into an exclusive array of unique fashion items by the Lindex design team.

The wearable 12-piece collection includes a raw edged denim jacket, silk kimono, a bonded vegan leather tote bag, Better Cotton Initiative waist belt and retro-esque swimwear with scalloped edges. And by the way, it's selling out fast, so get your limited edition piece now or regret it later.

Model and influencer Amber Le Bon spoke out in support of the project, saying, 'I’ve always been interested in Lindex, particularly the eco/sustainable side of the brand as I think it’s something that we can all benefit from thinking about a bit more. So going over to the home of Lindex was particularly interesting for me. Seeing the Art Meets Fashion collection also shows the support for both creative fields and how one is so important in supporting the other'.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
