Alexander Wang is teaming up with SATC’s clutch bag designer
And it's everything we hoped it would be.

And it's everything we hoped it would be.
Remember the bejewelled swan-shaped clutch that Big gave Carrie in season 3 of Sex and The City? How about the cupcake-shaped crystal bag that Charlotte’s daughter Lily hides Carrie’s phone in on her wedding day in the 2008 spin-off film?
Both are the handiwork of Judith Leiber.
It seems the designer was a favourite of SATC costume designer Patricia Fields back in the day, with the HBO sitcom putting the label on the map, now known for crystal-encrusted minaudieres.
In some very exciting news, Leiber is back on our radar, releasing a brand new bag in a collaboration with Alexander Wang.
Yes, really.
The two fashion houses are uniting to create a limited edition bag to present at his S/S18 show during New York Fashion Week.

In typical Leiber fashion, this is no ordinary-shaped bag, with the statement hand-beaded Swarovski crystal clutch coming in the shape of a roll of $100 dollar bills – complete with an elastic band down the middle.
And it could be yours - for a mere £3,867.
Breaking the news in a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Alexander Wang opened up about the collaboration and his decision behind it. ‘When I think about collaborations, I always try to work with people who do something that’s very specialised and who are a leader in their field,’ Wang explained.
‘I love that we don’t normally do evening bags or do anything that’s really decorative or bedazzled.’ He continued: ‘Within the last year and a half, we’ve been pushing a lot more evening capsules in our pre-collections. One of the gowns that we’ve done for three seasons now has been consistently one of the top sellers in our entire line, so we know there’s a customer for it.’
We need this now.
