The ‘delighted’ couple revealed plans to marry in December last year – less than six weeks after Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement – after Mike popped the at their Gloucestershire home.
But in contrast to Kate and William’s big white wedding, the thought the down-to-earth pair – who will turn down up to £1 million in glossy magazine deals – are planning a small, private ceremony with costs covered by the two families.
According to royal officials, Zara and Mike will marry at historic Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh’s royal mile.
It’s thought the newlyweds will then hold a small reception at the Scottish palace of Holyrood House, the Queen’s official residence in the area.
Rumour has it another couple had already booked Canongate Kirk on Zara and Mike’s chosen date, but were reportedly ‘quite happy’ to step aside for the royal event.
