Will Young to take the hot seat on Question Time next year
Will Young, singer and entertainer who found fame thanks to reality show Pop Idol, is set to make an appearance on the panel for Question Time.
The 29-year-old will make his debut on the current affairs discussion show in February the show’s producers have confirmed.
And apparently Young’s appearance is at the request of Question Time editor Gill Penlington who invited the singer to take part when she was gripped by a live radio interview on Radio Five Live he gave, in which he spoke passionately about politics and how much he enjoyed watching Question Time.
Young has admitted being an ‘avid viewer’ of the show saying: ‘Being in the hot seat is something I’ve always wanted to do. As the day gets closer rest assured I’ll be swotting up on the hot topics.’
The Pop Idol winner shouldn’t fail to disappoint either. After all, he does boast a degree in politics from Exeter University.
Show editor Penlington announced: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to have Will as a panellist.’
The programme will take place on 5 February in Dunstable, so tune in to see if Will has got the makings of a political pundit…
