Owen Wilson gives first post-suicide attempt interview to MySpace
OWEN WILSON HAS given his first interview since his suicide attempt, the same week that his movie The Darjeeling Limited is released in the States.
The 38-year-old actor will speak exclusively to close friend and film director, Wes Anderson, for MySpace, as part of its Artist on Artist series, where actors and musicians interview one another for the social networking site.
The interview was filmed yesterday and is expected to be posted on the site today at midnight LA time – 8am tomorrow in Britain.
Until now Wilson has remained silent about the night police were called to his home for what police called an ‘attempt suicide’ in August.
Following the news, the star asked the media for privacy saying in a statement: ‘I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.’
Wes Anderson revealed at the Venice Film Festival in September that his friend was ‘doing well’ adding, ‘when he’s ready he’s going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could. He has a very good way with words.’
