Oprah and Larry King in battle to secure Jade Goody interview
Jade Goody’s cancer fight has sparked awareness not just in England, but across the globe – and Oprah Winfrey and Larry King are now battling it out to secure an interview with the star before she dies.
The 27-year-old has made no secret of the fact she wants to make as much money as possible to secure her children’s future before she passes away.
The two talk show hosts – among the most popular in America – are reportedly willing to pay up to £500,000 for a sit-down with Jade.
But there are concerns the Big Brother star may now be too ill to conduct any more interviews.
Last night she went under the knife in an operation to relieve her debilitating stomach pains, and her publicist Max Clifford said she would only speak to US shows if her health improved.
‘Jade’s story is now being heard all over the world – it is pretty remarkable,’ he told the Daily Express.
‘I have hundreds of people calling me daily, just wanting an update about her. So far, Oprah Winfrey and Larry King really want to do an interview, too.
‘But all these things will only take place if and when Jade wants them to – and, of course, if she feels up to it.’
