  • The star says it ‘could have been worse’

X Factor winner Leona Lewis has spoken out following an attack at her book signing earlier this month.

The stunning star was allegedly punched in the face by a fan while signing copies of her new autobiography, Dreams.

Reportedly a reject from the talent show, her attacker was later sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Speaking of her ordeal, Leona said, ‘It could have been worse. I’m still alive. It is just something you have to deal with when you have fame and the positives far outweigh the negatives’.

But despite the incident, the down-to-earth star has said she has no plans to change her way of life, and will not be stepping up her security.

When asked about winning the X Factor, Leona said she was still ‘pinching herself’ about her success.

In the three years since winning, her career has gone from strength to strength.

She has recently filmed a new video starring Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame, and collaborated with R&B superstar Justin Timberlake on a track for her new album.

    Go Leona!
