Jennifer Lopez snaps back into shape
Jennifer Lopez certainly doesn’t look like a woman who, only five weeks ago, gave birth to twins.
The radiant new mum showed she’s beating the battle of the babby bulge in a stunning Grecian-style draped jersey dress by Reem Acra at the New York premiere of the Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones documentary, Shine a Light.
The mother of little Maximilian David and Emme Maribel, born 22 February, looked ultra-glamorous with gorgeous, glowing make-up, sleek-chic hair swept up in a neat bun (very on-trend for spring/summer 08) and her figure-forming black frock.
Although she’s obviously worked hard to regain her pre-pregnancy shape, Lopez insists she was proud of her post-baby figure, saying: ‘It’s amazing how your stomach goes boop and it’s this jiggly mass.
‘I even play with my little leftover belly.’
She continued: ‘I gained a good amount of weight, which I was focused on because twins can sometimes have a low birth weight.
‘I gained 45-50lbs, a lot for my frame, but for twins it’s right on.’
The new mum also revealed she is besotted by her little arrivals. She explained: ‘Having children is the biggest thing that can happen to a woman.
‘You win an Oscar, get nominated for a Golden Globe – you know, whatever things you think are big, I can’t even think of anything that can match the miracle of giving birth and having your own child.
‘I’ve been very career-orientated my whole life and very focused on my own world and my own life, and all of a sudden the focus just shifts.’
On the differences between the twins, she said: ‘Emme is a total girl. You take off her clothes and she covers up, and her hands are very feminine.
‘And she has more hair than him. And he is like a tank, with these little arms.’
