Heather Mills divorce lawyers say they can no longer represent her after TV outbursts
THE FATE OF Heather Mills took another turn for the worse yesterday when her divorce lawyers stepped down, saying they could no longer represent her.
Mills appeared again on GMTV yesterday morning to express her disgust at the way certain areas of the media have treated her since her split from Sir Paul McCartney.
Following the TV appearance, law firm Mishcon de Reya phoned Mills to say they could no longer represent her in the £50 million divorce rangle with the ex-Beatle.
An insider has claimed the firm famed for its representation of high-profile figures including Princess Diana and Thierry Henry felt Ms Mills was destroying her own case with her public rants across the media.
‘Mischon have just been tearing their hair out,’ said the source. ‘They are astonished at Heather’s crazy outbursts.’
Lawyers were forced to make a decision to abandon the case after Mills defied an order to refrain from discussing the couple’s daughter Beatrice as well as discussing the marriage in public.
The source continued: ‘She was warned against going on TV and talking about Paul, their marriage and anything about her daughter. But she just refused to listen. She was told time and again to keep quiet because she might hand Sir Paul’s lawyers an easy victory.
‘Her bid to win public sympathy could end up with her throwing away millions.’
