Dita Von Teese is latest star to feature in provocative PeTA campaign
Seductive burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese is the latest in a string of celebrities to appear in a provocative PeTA ad campaign.
Following in Alicia Silverstone’s footsteps, Marilyn Manson’s ex-wife appears in an advert as a sexy teacher – dressed in a powder-pink corset, stilettos and fishnet stockings – giving her pupils a lesson in their ABCs: Animal Birth Control.
Von Teese says: ‘Nearly 4 million dogs and cats are put to death in the US every year because there are not enough good homes. You can help prevent this – always spay or neuter your animals, and if you’re considering adding a dog or cat to your family, please adopt from your local animal shelter.’
PeTA is holding a press conference at their LA office today to promote and unveil the new ad.
The animal rights group is famous for using a combination of A-list stars and shock tactics to drive their anti-cruelty message home. Christy Turlington, Pamela Anderson, Charlize Theron and Paul McCartney have all been involved in past campaigns and, most recently, Alicia Silverstone stripped naked for a 30-second TV ad, which was banned in Houston.
