  • Anne Hathaway cringes at talk of ex-boyfriend live on US TV

Anne Hathaway cringed her way through an interview of US TV last night, as presenter David Letterman grilled her on ex-boyfriend, Rafaello Follieri.

Anne split from the Italian businessman in June this year, after which he was promptly arrested over alleged fraud charges. He pleaded guilty to 14 charges.

Taking the interview in her stride, the Devil Wears Prada star opened up, laughing as she told the presenter, ‘As far as relationships crashing and burning goes, I did pretty great.’

She added, ‘I’m an all or nothing sort of girl.’

Revealing for the first time that the split occurred before the arrest took place, Hathaway told of the moment she was informed of the arrest in a phone call from the FBI, as she stepped off a plane from Australia.

‘We were over for a bit. There were conversations afterwards, but the relationship was absolutely done’ she explained.

‘I was on a flight from Australia coming back’ she said, ‘So that was a fun call to get upon landing.’

Holding her head in her hands as Letterman asked her if Follieri had ever taken money from her purse, the actress giggled as she cringed her way through the interview.

Onto the future, and the presenter continued with his barrage of questions on her love life, asking her address the rumours of a new man in her life.

‘I’ve been very busy and apparently I’ve dated Josh Lucas, Brody Jenner – I didn’t know who he was – and then of course there’s the long-standing rumour that I’m dating Emily Blunt’ she joked.
