  • Amy Winehouse prepares for big Grammy’s comeback

She may have had a turbulent 2007, but Amy Winehouse is determined to kick off 2008 with a new perspective – and has lined up a prestigious performance at the Grammy’s as a perfect starting point.

The troubled singer is set to perform at the awards in Los Angeles on 10 February after Grammy bosses have been desperately wooing her since she was nominated in six categories, including Record of the Year (Rehab), Album of the Year (Back to Black), and Best New Artist.

Amy’s up-and-down 2007 saw her arrested twice, her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, carted off to jail, and a cancellation halfway through her shambolic UK tour.

But music bosses know that, despite this, she’s still the hottest ticket in town.

An awards source told the Mirror: ‘Her live performances can either be spectacular or car-crash territory but, either way, it’s a gamble organisers are willing to take as she’s such hot property.’

Amy confirmed she’ll be performing while enjoying a break in the luxury Caribbean island of Mustique.

One insider revealed: ‘Amy is really excited to be asked to perform at the Grammys. It’s a huge event.

‘She’s planning to do some sort of soul and Motown medley, and is even weighing up the possibility of a duet with some US stars – particularly Kanye West, who has spoken in the past of wanting to work with her.’
