Oscar-nominated actress bags one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood
Amy Adams has bagged one of the most hotly-contested roles in Hollywood – she’s the new Lois Lane.
The three time Oscars-nominated actress will play leading lady to Henry Cavill’s Superman, director Zack Snyder confirmed this weekend to the Los Angeles Times.
Snyder commented: ‘There was a big, giant search for Lois. For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.’
Although little is known about the reboot’s plot, Snyder did imply that Adams will play a key role: ‘What’s important to us is making (Superman) relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well.’
The latest in a string of big roles for Adams, she scored a Best Supporting Actress nod from the Academy this year for The Fighter and gained previous Oscar nominations for roles in Junebug and Doubt.
