Peter Andre: ‘Split is not a publicity stunt’

Peter opens up and reveals: 'Split from Katie is not a sick stunt'

Peter Andre has broken his silence over his split from Katie Price, insisting that it is not a publicity stunt – and that he is ‘crushed’.

The singer continued his weekly column for New magazine from his home in Cyprus, where he is being consoled by family.

It has been a totally devastating week for me, to say the least,’ he wrote.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight about one thing.

‘You may have read or heard that this is a publicity stunt, but I can assure you it’s not.

‘How anyone could think I would pretend to split up from my wife to grab headlines is beyond me. It’s just sick.’

But he did not write off a reunion, adding: ‘Everything is up in the air at the moment, but I am writing this from Cyprus as I came here to get away and spend some time with my family.’

The singer also revealed he is desperately missing his children, Junior, 3, and Princess Tiaamii, aged 22 months, ‘like mad’.

Katie, fled with the tots to the Maldives in the wake of the split last week and he hasn’t seen them since.

Andre added: ‘I haven’t seen much of Junior and Princess this week as they’re with their mum and I miss them like mad, I really do.’

He also told how he tried to get Harvey to visit him in Cyprus to no avail.

I desperately wanted to bring Harvey with me to Cyprus. But unfortunately he isn’t allowed any time off school, so Katie’s mum Amy is looking after him. I miss all the kids so much.

‘I even wanted to take Harvey to Cyprus for the weekend, but I was told that Amy had to look after him.’

And while Pete has been keeping fans up to date via magazine, Katie has been turning to Twitter to communicate her feelings.

Yesterday she wrote: ‘This is such an awful time for us, and I really appreciate all your messages and support.’

Reports also suggested yesterday that the estranged couple are set to meet this week to thrash out sharing custody of their children.
