A new addition to the Cameron family is expected in September after the tragic death of son Ivan
Celebrations were in full swing last night after the Camerons revealed they’re expecting their fourth child in September.
Mum-to-be Samantha, 38, couldn’t stop smiling as she arrived at her west London home to a throng of journalists eager to capture the happy moment.
When asked how she was feeling, the wife of the Conservative leader said: ‘Very, very delighted, as you can imagine.’
A Conservative party spokesman later said: ‘The baby is due in September and David and Samantha are completely thrilled.’
In February last year, the Camerons suffered terrible heartache when their six-year-old son Ivan, who had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, tragically died.
A source close to the couple said the loss of Ivan left a huge gap in their lives. ‘It would be fair to link the two,’ he added.
Letters of congratulations have been flooding in from the Prime Minister Gordon Brown, as well as LibDem leader Nick Clegg and his wife, Miriam.
The baby will be born in an NHS hospital. Mr Cameron, 43, is still deciding whether or not to take paternity leave.
