Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton replacement is named as former-Balenciaga man, Nicolas Ghesquiére. Get all the details...
Louis Vuitton has finally named Nicolas Ghesquiére as the brand’s new creative director.
The former Balenciaga main man will replace Marc Jacobs at the helm of the French fashion house.
Making the official announcement via Twitter, Louis Vuitton reps wrote: “Louis Vuitton is thrilled to welcome Nicolas Ghesquière as artistic director of the women's collections."
Ghesquiére’s appointment follows Jacobs’ sad departure this October, following his strong 16-year stint at the label.
Making an emotional farewell after the Spring Summer 2014 show at Paris Fashion Week, Marc stepped down to focus on his eponymous line.
Ghesquiére was the firm favourite to replace him from the off, following his earlier departure from Balenciaga.

“Louis Vuitton had always incarnated for me the symbol of ultimate luxury, innovation and exploration,“ Ghesquiére said today.
Adding: “I am very honoured of the mission that I am entrusted with, and proud to join the history of this great maison. We share common values and a vision."
The spotlight now turns to Kristen Stewart... as we await her big fashion comeback, will she follow Ghesquiére to Louis Vuitton?
