  • Victoria Beckham to guest on SpongeBob SquarePants

Victoria Beckham may have been all about the square shoulder trend this week stylistically, but now it’s emerged that she has also taken on the most unlikely of TV roles.

Following an Ugly Betty cameo, Posh has obviously developed a taste for the small screen, and has recorded a voiceover for kids’ TV favourite, SpongeBob SquarePants.

The role sees Mrs Beckham play a princess, in an hour-long episode to be screened in the States next summer.

A source revealed, ‘Scriptwriters created the role of a posh British princess especially for her and were blown away by what a natural she was. Victoria enjoyed every minute and is keen to do more.’

They added, ‘She isn’t interested in becoming an actress, but voice-over work is something that appealed. She joked that she could simply rock up to the studios in a trackie and no make-up and no one would ever know.’

Although the show may seem a random choice for the fashionista, she’s in good A-list company. David Bowie, Johnny Depp and Scarlett Johansson have all leant their voices to the animation series.
