Talking about debuting her huge engagement diamond ‘like it [was] a new car’ at the Venice Film Festival in September following her French lover’s romantic summer proposal, Scarlett revealed how she had braced herself for the inevitable media storm that would follow. 'My friend emailed me and said, “Wow, it’s so great that you’re about to go do this huge invasive press tour for ten days”. He said, “That wont bring up every awkward question you don’t want to answer and won’t”. And I was like, you know, it is what it is.'

The 28-year-old bombshell also revealed how she shares similar relationship principles to her Don Jon character Barbara, who leads on Joseph Gordon Levitt’s sex-obsessed character Jon for weeks before eventually ditching him in disgust upon unearthing his unhealthy porn addiction.

‘I can certainly relate to this habit of wanting your partner to just kind of fit into this mould you’ve made for them’, Scarlett spilled. ‘We do place pressure on somebody to just do it the way we think it should be done.’

‘It takes a lot of growth and searching to understand that it is the differences in relationships that enrich and strengthen the relationship, that help us evolve as people and partners. I understand that conviction; I know that is something I am guilty of.'
