While the rest of us are bemoaning the end of the summer holidays, Prince George and Princess Charlotte's are just beginning - as Kensington Palace has confirmed that the royal toddlers are going to be joining their parents on an eight-day-long trip to Canada later this month.

The long-haul jaunt is going to be Princess Charlotte's first ever public tour (to be fair, she's still way ahead of us on that one), and will see the family fly to Victoria - accompanied by an entourage of 12.

Yep, twelve.

With three private secretaries, one tour secretary, one operations manager, one personal assistant, one hairdresser, one nanny and four communications officers, we imagine that Charlotte and George would actually have felt pretty left out had their parents gone without them.

The family (along with the aforementioned luckiest staff members in the world) were invited by Canadian president (and total hotsticks) Justin Trudeau back in July - presumably so that he could show off more some of his magical baby-holding tricks before Charlotte gets too big.

And while the schedule is pretty vague right now, a few activities have already been confirmed. Fishing on Haida Gwaii - an archipelago consisting of 450 islands off British Colombia - will be combined with visiting teenagers at a local youth centre, while Syrian refugees will be met in Vancouver - and there's even a visit to the the world's largest temperate rainforest. Just because.

'They [The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge] have received so many wonderful messages from Canadians since the birth of their children and look forward to having the chance to introduce their young family to the country,' said a spokesperson for Kensington Palace.

'This is a great opportunity to introduce their children to a major realm before things like school make this difficult later on.'

We're just counting down the days until the first photos start emerging of Prince George perched on the back of a moose.
