  • Sienna Miller among nominees for BAFTA Rising Star award

Sienna Miller has finally been recognised as an actress in her own right after being nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star award.

The Factory Girl actress faces competition from Shia LaBeouf, star of Disturbia, and Ellen Page, star of forthcoming movie Juno. Other actors in the same category include Sam Riley, star of Joy Division biopic, Control and Wei Tang who stars in the much-talked about Lust, Caution.

The prize aims to recognize up-and-coming actors who show ‘exceptional talent’. Last year’s winner, Casino Royale star, Eva Green, announced the nominees yesterday saying: ‘This year’s five nominees are all actors who have really stood out in their work and I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of them throughout 2008.’

The award is the only BAFTA voted for by the public.
