Taylor Swift has topped a poll of the most giving star after $4m donation to charity
Taylor Swift isn’t just the darling of music, she’s added to her (already bulging) trophy cabinet with her latest award as the most charitable celebrity. And that’s not all to be impressed by, she fought of some fierce competition from the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Emma Stone.
The accolade was awarded by DoSomething.org, who compiles a list of their Top 20 Celebs Gone Good every year. Taylor topped the poll following her very generous offering to the Country Hall of Fame museum which saw her donate $4million (£2.4million).
But the superstar, who is currently dating One Direction heartthrob, Harry Styles, is certainly the giving kind as she was also applauded for being the youngest person to receive the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for her charity work.
Despite Rihanna’s recent Christmas gift of $1.75million (£1million) to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados, who treated her Grandmother, she failed to make the list although Beyonce and Jay-Z fell just out of the top ten, in eleventh place.
Lady Gaga’s work with her own charity, the Born This Way Foundation followed Taylor’s lead at number four and Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield made it to fourteenth place.
