Robert Pattinson has put the rumour mill into overdrive as reports are rife that he’s given Kristen Stewart a ring for her birthday and not just any old ring – it’s his grandmother’s ‘treasured pearl’ piece. And now everyone is eagerly awaiting news of an engagement.

They may be waiting a while though as it’s believed the sentimental ring was simply a token of the couple’s new future. A source close to Robert Pattinson told OK!: ‘Rob gave Kristen his grandmother’s treasured pearl ring, It was a huge statement on Rob’s part symbolising his full forgiveness of Kristen and his renewed trust in her future.’

But wait, that isn’t the most romantic part of this love story, instead of presenting it in a pretty box, the British heartthrob stayed true to the couple’s love of all things low key and delivered his gift in a very unique way.

The insider revealed: ‘He just casually wrapped it in tissue, put it in an envelope and slipped it into her mailbox. No note, no words, just the ring.’

Other presents reportedly include Versace jewellery and a Hermès scarf as well as the original vinyl copy of Kristen’s favorite Van Morrison song, Madame George.
