Robert Pattinson is shunning the big blockbusters in favour of an indie flick with fellow Brit, Jude Law
Robert Pattinson is refusing to be stereotyped as the (rather beautiful) face of Twilight and ever since the film franchise came to a close he’s being carefully carving out the start of what’s set to be a very successful career.
So much so he’s opted to star in indie flick, Queen of the Desert, directed by Warner Herzog once filming wraps for Mission: Blacklist Robert Pattinson’s upcoming project about the pursuit of Saddam Hussein.
Queen of the Desert will focus on the story of writer Gertrude Bell played by Naomi Watts and her good friend, T.E Lawrence (Robert Pattinson), a British Army officer whose vivid writing found him fame and saw him become the subject of the film Lawrence of Arabia.
Joining Robert in the cast will be fellow Brit (and heartthrob) Jude Law who has signed up for the role of Henry Cadogan.
But it’s not just Robert Pattinson fans who are pleased, make that ecstatic, to have him star as a young Lawrence of Arabia, director Warner Herzog can’t wait to work with him.
He told Zeit Online: ‘Robert knows that he must be out of this short-lived type of role of teen stars. This is a very intelligent man. [He] writes well. [He] knows exactly what he’s doing.’
Intelligent and gorgeous – we knew that all along about Rob!
