Don't go chasing waterfall collars...
It goes without saying that most people tend to have a certain fashion obsession: some have floor to ceiling shelves dedicated just to their shoe collection, others have twenty pairs of jeans and you probably know somebody who has a few too many going out dresses. When it comes to Meghan Markle, it’s pretty obvious that she’s a massive coat junkie and the Suits actress gets major snaps for her luxury collection.
From menswear-inspired silhouettes to pristine white outerwear, we’ve rounded up the best Meghan Markle coats in our gallery below. And if you’re looking for more royal style inspiration, her future sister-in-law is a great place to start with our edit of the best Kate Middleton hats and Kate Middleton earrings.
Meghan Markle Engagement Coat
This is the coat that started it all. After it was announced that Prince Harry had proposed to Meghan Markle, the pair stepped out to make things official to the press and Google exploded as people tried to track down the Meghan Markle white engagement coat. It didn’t take long for savvy fashionistas to figure out it was from Canadian brand Line the Label – and it also didn’t take long for it to sell out.

Meghan Markle Commonwealth Day Coat
Both Meghan and Kate were visions in white and black when they stepped out for a Commonwealth Day church service with their royal counterparts. Meghan once again chose an elegant white coat – this time from Amanda Wakeley – and this one felt distinctly more modern with a standup collar and snug, tailored fit. Her on-trend beret by Stephen Jones also quickly became a fast favourite, adding a whimsical Parisian flair to her look.

J. Crew Meghan Markle
Meghan took her favourite silhouette for a spin with this J.Crew number, which features a striking white trim for an extra hit of sophistication. It’s no surprise that she was all bundled up for her Birmingham appearance on International Women’s Day as it was a blisteringly cold. That said, this coat definitely would have kept her warm as it’s made from special Italian stadium-cloth wool.

Meghan Markle Mackage Coat
While Meghan’s vast coat collection is definitely worth drooling over, there’s one coat that the royal-to-be seems to favour over her others – this gorgeous waterfall coat by Mackage. She recently sported it while visiting Belfast with her beau and the piece drapes beautifully, making it no surprise that she’s previously donned it to other occasions in the past.
The coat is called the Mai Belted Wool Coat with Waterfall Collar and Meghan’s is in sand, though they also have black, yellow, bubblegum pink and heather grey colour ways. While it’s currently unavailable online thanks to the Meghan effect, new stock will be hitting Mackage’s shelves on June 15 this year.

Meghan Markle Coat in Cardiff
Meghan stepped out in an all-black look in Cardiff, though the playful satin bow on her Stella McCartney coat kept things from getting too sombre. Paired with black denims and Tabitha Simmons velvet boots, the play of different textures added another dimension to her styling and a green DeMellier London bag helped bring a subtle touch of colour.

Meghan Markle Coat in Scotland
When it comes to colours and prints, Meghan tends to stay on the safer side – which makes this gorgeous tartan coat a welcome departure from her usual style. Accessorised with a matching green bag, she stepped out with Prince Harry on a visit to Scotland and subtly paid homage to the country with the print. It’s actually still in stock, but you’ll have to move fast if you want one.
Priced at £1995, available through NET-A-PORTER
Meghan Markle Brown Coat
This long beige coat from Smythe is one of Meghan’s more casual pieces and has a strong menswear-inspired feel to it. With strong power shoulders and a sharp lapels, it’s a coat determined to make an impression and balanced by its cosy pastel tweed. It’s called the Brando Coat in Camel and – you guessed it – it’s sold out, however we’ve found a similar one from Ralph Lauren below.
Priced at £549, available through Ralph Lauren
We’ll be adding to this list as we go along – we don’t doubt Meghan’s got a few more amazing coats in her arsenal.
