We've been on trend watch for the past month and when it comes to hats, we've been waiting a while for the next big thing. With a lack of good headwear options, we've been longing for an accessory to refresh our new season get-ups.

So when new Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, sent ALL 68 looks down the catwalk, embellished with a leather beret, we knew we had found our new favourite accessory.

Ok, so the trend may have been on our radar before Dior’s AW17 show, but RN it's having a real style surge…. Our feeds have been full of our fave Insta babes sporting the look in different ways and it’s not all about leather. Chiara Ferragni recently snapped herself in a monogrammed style, teamed with the blogging gals uniform of the moment - classic denim and slogan tee.

Style inspiration is always found on Natalie Off Duty’s Insta page and she’s a BIG fan of the beret. Plus the Beckerman sisters, Sam and Callie who are always dripping in the latest high-fashion outfits, chose contrasting black and red styles for their recent Paris Fashion Week trip.

No longer is it a satirical fancy dress go-to, (that's right, not a breton stripe in sight!), it now holds real style kudos. Just ask Alexa Chung – the queen of French-inspired chic.
