This Twitter account just live tweeted the SAG Awards and provided the best trivia

Who knew maths could be so interesting?!

Who knew maths could be so interesting?!

Following certain awards shows can seem like a minefield. With so much coverage on social media, your favourite website and the next day in print, it can seem like overload. But luckily for us, Ben Zauzmer, who tweets from the account @BensOscarMath, simplified things for us at the SAG Awards while providing some fun trivia.

Ben, who is a contributor to The Hollywood Reporter, says in his Twitter bio that he uses 'math to predict and write about entertainment awards shows.' Essentially, he uses former statistics to analyse what will happen in the current run of awards shows. Pretty cool, huh?

So on to his coverage of the SAG Awards 2019: as well as live tweeting the winners and making it simple for fans to follow along with what was happening (especially if they were unable to stream it live like many Brits), Ben provided some interesting trivia for each category.

For example he revealed, perhaps most interestingly, that Game Of Thrones has won the 'Best TV Stunt Ensemble' category for the last EIGHT years until now (GLOW won this time around). The last show to win before GoT was True Blood. #Throwback.

He also shared some stats-based trivia, such as the fact that 83% of winners in the lead male actor role go on to win best actor at the Oscars. With this in mind, things are looking pretty damn good for Bohemian Rhapsody's Rami Malek!

Similarly, the film that wins best cast at the SAG Awards has a 48% chance statistically to win Best Picture at the Oscars. So slightly less of a done deal, but it's an interesting stat!
